Boris Grebenshchikov, a legendary figure in Russian rock, returned to Prague in the fall of 2022. Together with his new band BG+, he performed at the “Palace Akropolis” club. This concert was special because Grebenshchikov had suspended the activities of his main band, “Aquarium,” due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. Instead, he formed a temporary lineup for BG+, which included musicians such as Alexander Titov, Konstantin Tumanov, Brian Finnegan, Liam Bradley, Gleb Grebenshchikov, and Andrey Surotdinov. Grebenshchikov openly criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which made it impossible for him to continue performing in Russia.
At the Prague concert, fans could enjoy both classic hits from “Aquarium,” accumulated over 50 years of the band’s existence, and newly released compositions. It was an unforgettable musical event that brought together rock enthusiasts and fans of Boris Grebenshchikov’s artistry.
